Overview

Service Types in the Boostlingo platform determine the specific industry that encompasses the interpretation services for a call or appointment.

For example, a manager at an insurance firm requesting interpretation services would select “Insurance” as the service type for a call or appointment if discussing matters related to insurance during the interpretation services.

Default Service Type

Default Service Types determine the default industry for calls or appointments that are placed/created by Requestors or Requestor Administrators in a client account.

When a client account or Requestor / Requestor Administrator user account is created in the Boostlingo platform, a default service type must be set in order to place calls or create an appointment.

Service Types for Calls

When a Requestor or Requestor Admin places an On-Demand OPI (over-the-phone interpretation) or VRI (video remote interpretation) call, the user will be asked to select a Service Type for the call. The Service Type set here will determine the nature of the call.

For example, if I were a teacher requesting interpretation services, I would select the Service Type “Education” when placing a call.

Service Types for Appointments

When an LSC Administrator, Requestor, or Requestor Administrator is creating an appointment, the user will be asked to select a Service Type for the appointment. The Service Type set here will determine the nature of the appointment.

For example, if I were a doctor requesting interpretation services for a patient, I would select the Service Type “Medical” or “Medical (non-certified)” when creating an appointment, dependent upon if I wish for the interpreter who will be participating to be certified (ex. HIPAA, NAATI).
