Click here to see a list of languages eligible for AI Language Detection: AI Language List

Note: When feature is enabled, it will appear on mobile devices only (Web and IVR are currently not supported)

  1. Login to InterpretManager app on the mobile device (iOS or Android).
  2. Navigate to the On-demand screen.
  3. Tap anywhere on the “Detect a language” black banner in the middle of the screen and speak naturally for up to 8 seconds.

Note: The more you speak – the higher is the chance that language will be detected correctly!

If it is working correctly, you will see a prompt indicating that it’s listening, then it will say keep going.

  1. After 8 seconds, the timer will run out and you'll see “Working on it...” This indicates that the audio input is being processed. This usually takes just a few seconds.

  1. Once the system is done processing, the language with the highest certainty level is presented.
  2. It will display as follows:
  1. Language name in English and in the Native language.
  2. “Identified with [x%] certainty
  3. There will be a pop-up at the bottom saying “Play to confirm detected language” as well as message in native language saying “It sounds like you are speaking [language name]. Did we get that right?”
  4. Tapping the Play button plays audio with the same message in native language: “It sounds like you are speaking [language name]. Did we get that right?”
  5. You’ll notice thumbs up “Incorrect Language” and thumbs down “Correct Language” buttons appear at the bottom of the screen
    1. Tapping “Incorrect Language” resets the language detection module to the default state so you can try again
    2. Tapping “Correct Language” pre-fills the language selection and you are just one tap away from dialing an interpreter!
