Please refer to the article Rates Overview - Setting Up Standard Rates, Rounding and Minimum for an introduction on setting up Rates in Boostlingo.

Special Rates

Special Rates correspond with Schedules within the Boostlingo platform. When a Schedule is set (such as After Hours or Weekends), it can then be applied within the Special Rates section of the standard rate card.

One can set special rates to add an extra amount to the standard rate on a per-minute/hour interval if an appointment or call falls within a certain schedule. Additionally, a new standard rate can be applied with new parameters, such as rounding and minimums, if an appointment or call falls within one or more schedules.

Note: if multiple special rates are applied and overlap one another, the higher priority rate will take precedence.

Language 1(s) and Language 2(s)

Fields labeled “Language 1(s)” and “Language 2(s)” are interchangeable. These fields are bi-directional within the Boostlingo platform. This means the client can input English > Spanish or Spanish > English (for example) and Boostlingo will apply the same rate.

Furthermore, you can customize various language groupings and couple them with different delivery and service types. You can create a variety of language combinations and apply a different rate to each:

  • ALL ALL
  • English or Spanish German or French:

Delivery Types

Delivery type is the method of interpretation for the session (Onsite, VRI, etc).  Different rates can be applied for different delivery types, and the same rate can be used for numerous delivery types in one rate card.

For example, On-Demand Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) services can have one rate, whereas rates for Onsite appointments can be applied in a different rate card.

There are nine (9) different delivery types that can be added to a rate card:

  • Onsite Consecutive
  • Scheduled Video Interpreting – Scheduled Video Remote Interpretation (VRI)
  • Scheduled Telephonic – Scheduled Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI)
  • Onsite Simultaneous
  • Onsite Wisper
  • On-Demand Video Interpreting – On-Demand Video Remote Interpretation (VRI)
  • On-Demand Telephonic – On-Demand Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI)
  • Onsite – Scheduled Onsite appointment
  • Third Party Platform – Zoom or other third-party application

Service Types

Each rate can be associated with a service type in order better organize rates which may have the same language pairing and delivery types, but serve different purposes. By default, this field will be set to include all service types when creating a rate.

Industries that are selectable within the Service Types field include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Business
  • Community
  • Court
  • Education
  • Insurance
  • Legal (both certified and non-certified)
  • Medical (both certified and non-certified)
  • Sports
  • Travel/Hospitality

For example, I would like to create two rates cards with the following configuration:

Rate Card 1:

  • Language 1(s): English
  • Language 2(s): French
  • Delivery Types: On-Demand Telephonic

Rate Card 2:

  • Language 1(s): English
  • Language 2(s): French
  • Delivery Types: On-Demand Telephonic

However, I would like to set differing standard and daily rates for the two aforementioned rate cards. Service Types would allow one to assign Rate Card 1 to a certain industry that corresponds with the nature of the call or appointment, and Rate Card 2 to a different industry.

Note: The Service Type list provided within the rate card does not correspond with appointment service types. Please see Appointments documentation for further insight into appointment service types.
